FIVE TIPS FOR FINALLY
GETTING WHAT YOU WANT

Are you still hanging in with your New Years Resolutions and goals? Or have you noticed that already you're sliding in your commitment and excitement about getting what you want?

If you've moved those newly set goals to the back burner, know that you're not alone. In fact most people abandon their goals and resolutions a couple of weeks into the New Year. But that doesn't mean you have to give up hope or wait for next year to start again. Leave yesterday behind and start fresh today. Every minute we get the chance to start again and make positive change.

Here are five tips for getting back on track and finally getting what you want in 2008.

  1. Determine clearly what your goal is and then imagine yourself on December 31st, 2008 having it. Sense it, feel it, smell it, visualize it. Get a good sense of what your life will be like once you have achieved your goal.

  2. Using this image as a starting point, move backwards month by month and notice what you did each month to achieve the goal. For example if your goal is to be ringing in 2009 in a new home, then on December first of this year you might imagine yourself unpacking boxes in that new home. Now go back a month to November first. You may see yourself packing up your current home and notifying your contacts of your new address. October first you imagine yourself signing legal documents to seal the deal. September first you see yourself attending open houses. Keep moving backwards until you hit the present day. Congratulations you have just created an action plan for accomplishing your goal!

  3. Ask yourself what beliefs, thoughts and behaviors do I currently hold that support me in achieving my dream? These statements are your internal cheering leading team. Remind yourself of them daily.

  4. Ask yourself what beliefs, thoughts and behaviors do I hold which may stop me from getting my goal? Be aware that these beliefs and behaviors will sabotage you from getting what you want.

  5. Change your negative and limiting beliefs into positive ones to support you in the creation of your desire.

You can achieve your goals when you hold beliefs that support them. With a mind full of positive beliefs and a set of inspired action steps anything is possible.
